Telemedicine Virtual Eye Care
Meet with your optometrist from the convenience of your home.
At Truesight, our mission is to deliver quality vision care to you and your family — even when you’re not able to visit our office in person.
Telemedicine allows you to set up a one-on-one video consultation with your eye doctor from the convenience of home, work, or anywhere you may be. All you’ll need is a device with a camera and internet access, such as a smartphone, computer, or tablet.
To schedule your appointment, call our office or book your appointment online. We will contact you with a date, time, and instructions for the virtual visit. We may also ask you some triage questions to determine if a virtual appointment is right for you.
Am I eligible for a virtual visit?
This will depend on the nature of your eye care needs. Telemedicine is typically best suited for follow-up visits, monitoring of existing eye conditions, and as a means for triaging symptoms, such as:
- Eye redness or irritation
- Eye allergies
- Pink eye
- Eyelid twitch or sty
- Visual disturbances
Can telemedicine be used for emergencies?
Virtual visits are not suited for emergencies. If you have an eye emergency, please call our office directly for guidance. If you have a medical emergency, please dial 911 to get assistance.
Common situations that should be considered urgent include:
- Eye infections
- Foreign objects in the eye, such as small shards of glass or metal
- Cuts or punctures of the eye or eyelid
- Chemical exposure causing pain or vision problems
- Sudden vision loss or change in your vision
- Scratches caused by foreign objects
- Sudden onset of floaters or flashes of light
Will my insurance pay for video visits?
This varies from company to company, but your insurance will be billed and copays may apply. You may be asked to provide your insurance or method of payment prior to receiving a link for your visit.
Will my privacy be protected?
Yes, we use a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted messaging and face-to-face web conferencing platform for virtual appointments. Protecting your privacy is of the utmost importance to us.
